Elizabeth Kidney, Certified Flight Instructor, May 9, 2008

Liz passed her CFI checkride today! After six months of working with her CFI, Dan Jacobson, Liz decided she had heard enough from Dan and insisted upon taking her checkride. Sherry Diamond was assigned by the San Jose FSDO to give the checkride. It went fantastically! CFII next Liz! Congratulations!

1981 Mooney 201 Joins Shoreline Flying Club Fleet!
February 2, 2007

We are very excited to announce that as of Monday, February 5, 2007, N1146J, a 1981 Mooney 201, will be joining the Shoreline Flying Club fleet! For those of you who are not familiar with Mooneys, the 201 is the first of the truly modern Mooney aircraft fleet. Also, in case you were wondering just how they came up with the catchy model number, 201, that just happens to be the maximum level cruise speed of this airplane in miles per hour! You got it, 201 miles per hour. To help you reign in that massive speed, this airplane is equipped with speed brakes.

Why not come out and take a look at this amazing airplane. As always, you will find that our rates are untouchable by other clubs.

UWE LEMKE
1955-2007

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds...and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of...wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there, I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air. Up, up, the long, delirious burning blue I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace Where never lark, nor even eagle flew. And while with silent, lifting mind I've trod The high untrespassed sanctity of space... ...put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

We will miss you Uwe
